SURFACE MOUNT EPOXY # 4044
Surface Mount Epoxy # 4044 is a new single component surface mount adhesive which has been developed by AIM, Inc. in order to meet the stringent quality and performance standards of the assemblers of printed circuit boards. Epoxy # 4044 possesses a broad process window, and is available in a single formulation that can be used in either dispensable or printable applications, unlike conventional adhesives that must be individually formulated per application. Epoxy # 4044 may remain on the stencil up to seven days without dry-out, compared to a few hours for conventional adhesives. In addition, Epoxy # 4044 has an extended shelf life of one year if refrigerated.
Epoxy # 4044 has been developed in order to meet the highest standards of quality and ease of use. Epoxy # 4044 provides consistent dot volume when dispensed, is non-slumping when printed, and possesses a viscosity and surface tension adequate for high-speed screen-printing. In addition, Epoxy # 4044 possesses excellent green-strength for holding components, is fast curing, and is easily cleaned.
Epoxy # 4044 also has been designed to be economical and efficient. Although possessing high shear strength, Epoxy # 4044 is easily reworkable, thus reducing costly board-damage. Due to Epoxy # 4044’s non-tailing formula and tolerance to shear thinning, less scrap is generated than compared to conventional adhesives. Epoxy # 4044 is a low cost product, and is available in all conventional packaging.
